Start by visiting the iconic Brandenburg Gate on Pariser Platz, symbol of the German reunification, and walk down through the beautiful Unter den Linden Boulevard to the Museum Island where you can see magnificent ancient art treasures distributed in 5 museums (there almost 150 museums scattered around the city) and visit the majestic Berlin Cathedral. In this area also lies the historic Reichstag Palace with its famous glass dome that attracts thousands of visitors for its originality. Do not miss the Holocaust Memorial, the extent of what remains of the Berlin Wall (with murals painted by artists), the Checkpoint Charlie, the military post which was the crossing point between the two Germanys and the Gedächtniskirche church, which was bombed and never restored, to remember the horrors of the war.
 
The Gendarmenmarkt square in the historic centre is considered by many the most beautiful of Berlin, with three buildings that are worth visiting: the Concert House, the German Cathedral and the French Cathedral. To be impressed by the contrast of the modern, visit the Alexanderplatz and the TV Tower, which offers a fantastic panoramic view of the city. Potsdam Square, with modern glazed buildings is another spectacular example of modern architecture. To fill your lungs with fresh air, walk through the Tiergarten, and for shopping, Kurfürstendamm Boulevard is a mandatory stop, as well as its "Temple of Consumption", the KaDeWe Gallery. And, since Berlin's nightlife is one of the busiest in Europe, enjoy and have fun in the districts of Mitte, Friedrichshain or Kreuzberg, filled with restaurants, bars and clubs!
