Start your visit in the central region of Santiago, in Cerro San Cristobal, one of the highest hills of the city from where you can enjoy the magnificent panoramic view over the city, then visit the Museums La Chascona and La Sebastiana, the first is a house built by the poet Pablo Neruda for his mistress Matilde and the second was his residence in Valparaiso, nowadays two of the main attractions of the Chilean capital. Stroll along the banks of the Mapocho River and visit the National Museum of Fine Arts and the Museum of Contemporary History. Recharge your batteries in the Central Market where you'll have several souvenir shops, restaurants and stalls that sell all kinds of products.
Continue your visit in the Plaza de Armas, the birthplace of the city, where you can admire the statues, monuments and buildings that surround it, such as the Cathedral and the National History Museum. Then, shop at Paseo Ahumada and finish with a visit to the Palacio de la Moneda and the Fonck Museum, where you can observe a Moai from the Easter Island.
