São Paulo

The city that never sleeps

1 Jan to 01 Jan
It is the largest city in Brazil and a major business and financial centre, but also the ideal destination for those who love rhythm, shopping, fashion and events. With a huge Italian, Arabic and Japanese influence, São Paulo is a lively and interesting mix of cultures that are worth to discover.

Start by walking through the famous Paulist Avenue, where you'll find lots of shops, bars, cafes, restaurants, cinemas and cultural houses, always with exhibitions and events. To enjoy a 360° view over the city, climb to the top of the Bonespa Building, with an architectural style that reminds us the Empire State Building, dine in the restaurant Terraço Itália, or have a drink at the Skye Bar. It is worth to visit the Municipal Theatre, inspired by the Paris Opera, and watch a show at Sala São Paulo or on Terra Garoa, an intimate room in the 20s' style. Try a bologna sandwich in the Municipal Market and get marvelled with the Cathedral, in neo-gothic style. Shopping lovers must go to 25 de Março Street, the District of S. Brás, the Retiro's District and the Oscar Freire Street - voted the 8th most luxurious street in the world!
To leave the bustle of the city, stroll through the Botanical Garden, relax or practice sport in Ibirapuera Park or go up to the Jaragua Peak. In the Maria Luisa and Oscar Americano's Foundation, a house-museum, you'll also find fabulous gardens and a charming tea room. As for the cuisine, the offer is varied, with many restaurants with renowned chefs that are worth to know. If you're a sushi lover, you're in the right location because of the large Japanese influence in the city. To find the most trendy and artistic side of São Paulo, visit the Vila Madalena and get lost among the lively bars and restaurants, galleries and shops, enjoy the graffiti walls and a good "balada".
