Globally known as the capital of Tango, the city of Buenos Aires hosts its main festival. Concerts, shows, classes, competitions and a lot of sensuality mark this event dedicated to all lovers of this musical style and its dance.
For two weeks in August, approximately 500,000 tourists - about 500 of whom are professional and amateur dancers - from all corners of the world, visit the Argentine capital to participate in the biggest tango competition in the world. The festival will reward the best dancers in different categories, for example the "Best Tango de Pista", which consists of the dance in pairs or the "Best Tango Encenado", where the dance is enriched by choreographies tuned to the show.
In addition to the aforementioned competitions, there are still more than 50 music and dance shows, lectures and workshops. There are also children's programs that instil the taste for tango in the younger ones. During the event you can participate in guided tours to places with a strong connection to this dance and visit the Monument to Tango. Feel the sensuality and passion of this art, declared an Intangible Cultural Heritage of Humanity by UNESCO.
